Bean Counters Holtz Rubenstein Reminick Moving to 1 Penn Plaza

reprintsFresh off earning “2012 Accounting Firm of the Year” honors from the New York Enterprise Report, bean counters Holtz Rubenstein Reminick inked a lease for its new 29,271 square foot office at 1 Penn Plaza, The Commercial Observer has learned.
The firm will be moving out of its current offices at 1430 Broadway, where it has a 14,360 square foot office space on the 17th floor, to 1 Penn Plaza sometime before the end of the year, a source close to the deal said.
Holtz Rubenstein Reminick’s new office space is for a portion of the 30th floor in the 57-story building. That space, which was formerly occupied by global Human Resources consulting firm Buck Consulting, had been on the market for the past 8 months, a person familiar with the deal said.
A CBRE team of Scott Gottlieb, Evan Haskell, Susan Kahaner and Mike Wellen represented Holtz Rubenstein Reminick in the deal.
Leasing for 1 Penn Plaza, which is owned by Vornado Realty Trust (VNO), is handled by Craig Panzirer and Jared Solomon.
Calls and emails to CBRE, Vornado and Holtz Rubenstein Reminick were not returned by press time.
Holtz had been at 1430 Broadway since 2001 when it had moved from its then-old offices at 685 Madison Avenue, according to CoStar data. The firm has offices in Long Island in addition to New York, and through its affiliation DFK International Worldwide Tax Overview operates throughout Canada, Europe and Asia and elsewhere.
The firm won the “Accounting Firm of the Year” at the New York Enterprise Report award gala at the Trump Soho in Manhattan in June. The awards were honoring the “2012 Best Accountants and Attorneys for Privately Held Companies.”
The 2.585 million square foot office tower at 1 Penn Plaza has Cisco Systems and Gibbons P.C. as tenants.
